Question

do Cap 4 trial SWFs expire?

I know that the trial version of Captivate 4 is a full version of the app.  Do the SWFs published with the Cap 4 trial version have any limitations?  In some previous trial versions, the published SWFs had expiration dates.  Just wondering if that's the case with the Cap 4 trial or not.

Thanks!

I just installed the Captivate 4 trial and have noticed that SWFs published with this program do a fade at the end, even though none of the objects are set to fade out and the project itself is not set to fade out in the Project End settings. Does anyone know whether this is a result of using the trial version?

    Hi there

No, it's not a Captivate trial limitation. I've described the limitations at the link below:

What Captivate 4 does is insist the project fade out after it completes playing. One way to overcome this is by staging a Click Box or Button object to appear and pause the slide before the fade can occur.

    Hi there

I'm not sure if they do. As I recall, when this was the case you were also unable to edit the expiration date. Have you tried it? Can you edit the date?

Another test would be to create a Captivate movie, then take it to a computer and temporarily change the date by bumping it forward a couple of months. See if the Captivate movie plays or not. Either way, you have your answer. (If you choose to perform this little test, don't forget to return the date back to the correct setting!)

We'll do a test to check this out and then report back.  Thanks for the suggestion.
