Question

Does a Captivate 2017 licence allow use of previous versions of Captivate?

I have a client that wants me to develop eLearning for them using Adobe Captivate 9. I would like to take out a subscription to Captivate 2017 (the only subscription available) and wanted to know if the licence I get for Captivate 2017 would also allow me to use previous versions, such as Captivate 9?

I just chatted with a rep. This is the reply I received (for those still looking for an answer):

Adobe Captivate 9 is no longer available for purchase.

However you can purchase Adobe Captivate 2017 volume license from your nearest Adobe reseller and can provide us the serial key and order number and then we can provide you the Captivate 9 serial key by doing backward licensing.

A subscription to Adobe Captivate entitles you to the current version of Captivate 2017 plus any future releases as they become available. You could only maintain the previous version if you began your subscription while the previous version was the current version.

Unless it has changed, you should be able to install both CP9 and 'CP2017,.two versions with one subscription provided you buy CP9 now.
