I only see three sample presentations  no other pre-done templates

    We have slide templates in the trial version. Click + in the left toolbar to access the templates.

    Whihch version are you using? Is it the new version 12 or Captivate Classic,? Classic never rovided templates (cptl files), but you have the Assets Library whihc has Quick Start Projects qnd slide you can customize/reuse
