I am working on a drag and drop with 7 drag options to 7 drop options. Evemtualy, the 7 drop boxes will be on top of each other and each drop has a different reaction when the answer is dropped on the box.

What happens right now is if I disable the other drop boxes through advanced actions it still works and accepts answer when I do not want it to do until it6 is time to answer/

Can you explain a little bit more in detail? AFAIK it is not possible to have interactive objects as drag sources, nor drop targets. This means that you cannot disable a drop target at all. You probably mean something else? All D&D objects have to be available right from the start of the slide, that is the way it has been designed.

Could you also tell which version of Captivate you are using? If you are on CP9, did you have a look at the InBuilt states for the D&D objects? Here is an overview: Drag&Drop in 2016 with Captivate 9 - Captivate blog

I am trying to create a drag and drop that is done in order.

    example1

What I want is for the user to drag the first item that the tech needs to put on in the garbing process. in this case the Shoe Covers is the first.

When the user drags the shoe cover card over the tech I want it to shrink to 0 and the shoe covers show up on the Tech and the Word Shoe Cover shows up in the list on the right. If a person tries to use any of the other cards, a big red X displays over the Tech, the card goes back.

After the user picks the right answer I want the user to drop the next item on the Tech.

    example2

I want to do this with all 7 cards with the last card showing a button to go to next slide
