I remeber being able to drag an item in the timeline to make it longer or shorter and also move it forward or backward in the timline in verison 1. I cannot seem to do this in Captivate 2. I have to oepn the item properties to alter the duration or right click to send fwd or backward.

I am having the same problem. The mouse doesn't work, but if you select the caption and then use SHIFT + LEFT or RIGHT keyboard buttons you can change the size.

When you click on the timeline layer and try to drag it, the first action it does is, to change the color of the timeline layer. Its seems, it is taking some time over there. So once you click on the timeline layer, wait for couple of seconds, and then drag it.

    thanks

I am experiencing the same issue. Even when I click on the object and wait, I still cannot drag it using my mouse, however I can do Shift + Left/Right arrow. This is a major pain.

What happens when you do Right Click on the object in timeline? Does any menu pops-up?

    thanks

Also, make sure that you click to select the item on the time line you wish to manipulate. It will appear "pressed in" once selected. Then when you mouse over the ends, the cursor will change to <-> and will allow you to click and drag the start or stop time by lengthening or shortening the item on the time line. Not trying to preach to you, just offering some free advice. :)

    flyme,

Does this happen on all your .cp projects or only on one in particular? I ask because there were no changes to this functionality in Captivate 2 and you should still be able to do these things. I tried on several of my projects and was able to resize for timing, move left and right and change layers all on the time line.

If all else fails to resolve the issue, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling.
