Question

Drop item not snapping back to original position when incorrect.

Hi

I have table, which is setup up with 4 target group. The drop items are set into matching groups. This is working great except when, for example the drop item ‘Messenger’ which should drop into any of the four bottom right rows. If this is brought to any of the four bottom left rows, you will get the incorrect X but instead of snapping back to the top it snaps to the right into the a correct position.

I’ve tried changing the position from 'Anchor' to 'Absolute' -  that did not work

I’ve tried changing the 'Hit are padding' from 0 up to 10 – that did not work

I have 'Send Drag Source to original position' ticked.

Any ideas?

Hi Rhodaoh,

Correct me if I am wrong, You want the drop source to go back to its original place when dropped on in appropriate target.

To achieve this , you should have a look at "Object Actions" option in drag and drop pallete Under format tab. I am posting a snapshot here.

Uncheck Accept All option and Uncheck every other source object which the drop target should reject.

Please reach me @ dgp at adobe dot com if this is not something you wanted to achieve.

Thanks

(sorry for taking so long in getting back - sick) That is what I need it to do but not what its doing. Instead of going back to the top, if its close to its correct position, it will jump sideways and snap to that, while still giving me the X for the wrong answer at the location it was originally being dropped.

There are the setting already set:
