DVD style menuing in Captivate

I am trying to use Captivate to create a DVD style menu to provide links to other content ( in general pdf documents).

The idea is to create a CD to circulate to new staff which gives them an overview of the organisation prior to any Induction training.
I can create the screen, menus, links to the URL's etc but the problem I am trying to solve is how do I keep the slide 'alive' - when they navigate to the pdf doc and return the slide has moved on and is blank.

I have put an EXIT button on the main screen with 'Pause until clicked' but this doesn't stop it.

Is the only option to use a very long time line?

Welcome to our community, Dick.

What you are probably looking for here is a little very easily overlooked setting with Buttons and Click Box objects.

Edit the object your user is clicking to open the file. Look at the field where you typed the file name. You have already been in this area or the file wouldn't be opening. Now look at the button you likely clicked. The one to the right of the field that has the down arrow on it. You have clicked this button before to cause the linked file to open in a new window. But what is often easily overlooked is the fact that if you click the button again after configuring to open in a new window, a new option is now available. It's called "Continue playing project".

You probably just need to DE-select that option.

Cheers... Rick
