Question

E-learning Suite 6.1 and Captivate

I have the E-learning Suite 6.1 installed.  The other products in the suite will launch, however Captivate 6.1 will not launch.  It prompts me to Run as Administrator for all functionality to work, but the application never opens.  When I run as administrator, I get an window to run Captivate as an executable, it starts 'loading' but never opens.  I finally get a Microsoft window that Captivate isn't responding and choose either Close the program or Try again.

Hi there

What is your operating system?

If your answer is Windows 8 or 10, it would make me wonder if you simply need to upgrade to a newer version of Captivate.

Have you tried downloading an evaluation version of Captivate 9 to see if it works?

Cheers... Rick

Hi,

I am on Windows 7 professional.  My version of Captivate is part of an E-learning Suite.  You can no longer upgrade the Suite.  I am inheriting this license as someone left the company.  MIS department doesn't know what the problem is and has given up on it.

I suggest you get your IT department to look into which Adobe ID was connected to that particular Elearning Suite license.  If you genuinely have a Captivate 6.1 install then it was likely to be a subscription, not a normal standalone license.  Subscription licences are always related to an Adobe ID.  If you are not able to supply exactly the same Adobe ID then that might explain your issue.
