Edit Audio

The scissors and/or cut feature in the edit tab of the slide audio box is no longer available. I was using it quite a bit today and for some reason it's no longer available. I pulled up other courses with audio and it's not available on those either. I tried closing it down, reopening and same problem, any ideas?

Hi There,

Try to launch Captivate 5.5 by right click on it and choose run as administrator and check its performance in admin mode.

Hi Ajit,

I believe this version has a lot of quirks and unfortunately it had to be uninstalled and reinstalled as the last resort.

Still not sure why the edit audio stopped working initially and why the renaming prevented the software from even opening. The helpdesk team looked at the rename folder and said it appeared that I did it correctly, but still baffled as to why it didn't work.   The helpdesk does not have a lot of knowledge when it comes to this software, so they did what needed to be done to get me up and running again.

Thank you very much for all your help as I find these discussion boards EXTREMELY helpful

Hi There,

Can you please confirm Captivate version you are using ( Go to Help > about Adobe Captivate ) ? Also confirm your operating system ?

Close Captivate and then reset the preferences of Captivate by going to location-  C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7 (32 Bit)\ utils folder and run the CleanPrefsWin.bat file by double click on it.--  ( For Adobe Captivate 7 32 bit- windows platform )

Click on finder and then click Go > Go to Folder and type-   ~/Users/[your user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Captivate 7 folder and rename it to Adobe Captivate 7_old  -- ( For Adobe Captivate 7 -- Mac OS)

Then launched Captivate and check for audio editing options under slide audio dialog box.

Ajit

Hi Ajit,

Before I try your suggestion, the captivate version is 5.5 with Windows 7.  Does that make a difference or should I proceed with you sugggestion?

Thanks,

Lisa

I went to the location you mentioned but I do not have a utils folder nor a cleanprefswin.bat file for Captivate 5.5.  Is there another fix for this problem for this version?
