Edit existing (or create new) Captions in Captivate v4

I am using Captivate v4 and mainly use the Adobe Blue Captions, as the Adobe blue is as close as I can get to my company's corporate blue.

It would be nice to either edit the Adobe blue so it was same as company blue, or failing that - is it possible (and easy ) - to create my own set of captions with a clour scheme of my choice ?

You can create your own captions.  If you dig down into the Adobe Captivate install directory and find the folder containing the current captions you can get the idea of how they are made.

The folder is here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Gallery\Captions

Each caption is really made up of a set of several BMP graphics plus a .FCM text file that has some configuration options.  Captivate slices these graphics up so that you can resize them at will inside Cp.

One critical thing you need to be aware of is that these BMPs have to have a coloured background because Captivate will make that colour transparent.  It automatically picks the top-left pixel as the transparent colour.  So you have to make sure that you leave space around the callout.

That should get you started.

Still valid for Cp4 which you use, I'm not sure if Cp5 still works the same way.
