Editing a click to reveal project

I have chosen the "aspire" project. I have a chosen a "click to reveal" project slide.

In the "preview" mode, when I click a tab I can see "Topic 01, tell me more, etc"

I cannot find any way to edit these sections or even find these sections. In the "timeline" I don't see a place to find and edit this text.

This topic has been closed for replies.

It would be easier if you specified the number of the slide you are using from the Aspire Quick Start Project. You could have a look at this blog post, where I explain possible workflows:

    http://blog.lilybiri.com/editing-ready-to-go-slides-quick-start-projects-part-1-text-and-images

It is the first of a sequence of 3 blog posts about editing slides from the Quick Start Projects, also indicated as 'Ready to go slides'.

My suspicion is that you are coping with a multistate object, where each state is appearing depending on the clicked Topic.

In that case the action triggered by the button probably has a 'Change State.... ' command, or maybe several commands of that type in an advanced action. Those Quick Start Projects never use shared actions. I have several blog posts about using those example projects.

Try clicking on the text of the space you're trying to modify.

Then on the right side - try clicking on State View.

That should show you each state associated with the topic buttons

Another strategy would be to click one of the buttons and check the action tied to the button. Open the associated advanced action and see which named object is having its state changed.

Thanks for the response but didn't help. I will try to upload screen shots.

In preview mode I can see "topic 1", Topic 2", etc, when I click the buttons. But I can't find where to edit these fields in captivate.

    Review the screenshots attached.

I tried to download the Aspire version but it seems slightly different.

The states themselves are not in the timeline - just the main object.

Each button is set to change the state of the main text box.

    1. Click the space where the text is. The appropriate object should highlight in the timeline

    2. Click the button in the properties panel that says  State View

    3. Select the state on the left filmstrip you wish to edit.

    4. Make the edits in the right side window.

    Hope this makes more sense.
