Editing a file from Mac on a PC

I've been using Captivate 6 at work on a Mac, with mostly no problems. It generally works well. However, I need to work from home on my PC. So I took home the PowerPoint file that was imported into Captivate, and the Captivate project file. It opens on my PC, but it doesn't run as smoothly as on the Mac. Now I am stuck, because if I try to make any type of edit and save, the screen turns all white when I play back any slide in the Caprivate timeline. So I open the Captivate project created on the Mac, choose edit from PP so that the files are in sync, and once I save, it makes every slide turn white when played. It's just buggy. It also messes up text boxes and things like that. Can I not use a Captivate file on my PC if it was created on a Mac? Why can't I edit it at all?
