Editing Text - Urgent!

I purchased an editable PDF wedding invitation from Etsy but am having troubles editing text. Part of the text is supposed to be italicized but it is not showing up that way. When I click command + e to pull up the text editing tool bar on my MAC, I am unable to select the italicize icon. When I click on it, nothing happens. I have the text I would like to select highlighted and I have tried re-downloading the PDF multiple times. The package comes with a Details card and RSVP card which contains the same texts and is showing up italicized as it should be.

I'm wondering why this is happening and how I can fix it. I need to get these invitations printed would love for this issue to be resolved ASAP!
