El Capitan and Captivate 8 and Captivate 9

Hi!

El Capitan is coming out any minute now and I was wondering if Captivate 8 and 9 will be compatible with the new OSX.

I saw something about downgrading to Java SE 6 but this was for the Beta version of El Capitan.

Does anybody know anything about this? I'd like to upgrade but I also would like to be able to get some work done tomorrow

Do we have a updated status on this? Yes (sigh), i upgraded to El Capitan without checking here first. I'm running Captivate 8 and just noticed that the bullets are all wonky (i.e., no sub bullets, and numbered bullets are letters and vice versa). Haven't checked Photoshop.

Is El Cap safe to install yet? (kind of late for me, but I will research backing out of it)

Installed El Capitan, had to downgrade to Java SE 6 to get Captivate running.

CP8 working fine after the Java downgrade (you get a message automatically with a download link when you try to start CP for the first time after installation of El Capitan)

Did not test on CP9 because I didn't upgrade to that version yet.

Thanks for taking the dive and informing us, Vico.

I'll still wait a little bit longer though to be absolutely sure. Deadlines, you know...

I have captivate 9.  was working perfectly yesterday with my new el capitan but today I had a feeze, and had to force quit and now it won't open at all.  the icon just bounces in the dock for awhile.

Here's a TIP for you:

NEVER jump in and install a new MAC OS as soon as it gets released and expect everything in Captivate to work, or expect Captivate to work at all.  Wait and watch the Captivate Forum to see threads from other users.

Well, that's what I'm doing right now.

But then again, who's going to find out?

Don't worry. I can guarantee you there will be PLENTY of MAC users that will not think twice about diving in and installing the new OS version, despite the fact that in previous OS releases there have always been issues of some kind.
