Embedded swf files in 5.5 not playing full length

Hi everyone,

I have attempted my very first eLearning course using Captivate and all was going well until I embedded my seven software simulation and try me demos (as swf files) into my main captivate file. I noticed that any of my swf files with more than 22 slides pretty much just close on their own at about Slide 22 when they are played in the main file (this doesn't occur when they aren't embedded). The shorter videos still seem to work.

Any workarounds or tips?

Thanks for your help.

I agree with Rod. I think your putting too much content into one Captivate movie. Plus, from and end-user perspective, I typically try to break apart my large projects into smaller movies that display content for a specific topic. This follow my interpretation of "adult learning', where the user can go directly to a topic they wish to review. The issue is you have to build an interface for the users to select/navigate your multiple Captivte movies. There are a few options out there, such as the Captivate Aggregator, Multi SCO, or the Launch Pad.

Nesting Captivate SWFs inside other project files is a bad idea and can cause lots of issues. Your sims are probably closing down because tey reach a built in limit on the number of frames a single Flash symbol is allowed to have. You would not have this problem if you copied the slides from your sims into the main project instead of inserting them as published SWFs.
