Embedding scrolling text in a Captivate slide

Hello -- I'm working on a Captivate 2 project and would like to know if it is possible to embed a document (a few pages of text) into a single Captivate slide. What I hope to achieve is that a user can view the slide, use a right-hand scrollbar to scroll through the 300 lines of text, click on a sentence, and then be transported to a slide that plays an FLV video that deconstructs the grammar of the sentence. The trick is getting that 300-line document to display with scroll bars in one slide. I couldn't figure out how to do this myself and am hoping I don't need to produce something in Flash 8 Pro. Ideas?

Andrew

    Hi Andrew

Not sure about the linking bit. But you could probably get that 300 page monster inside Captivate by using FlashPaper.

Click here for information about FlashPaper.

FlashPaper -- I gave it a try and it worked beautifully. The file was only 317 lines (not pages), so definitely do-able.

Question -- I'm toying around with two ways of linking out of the SWF file in Captivate to another slide based on where a user clicks. Ideally, the user would click on say, Line 27, of the embedded SWF file and be whisked to Captivate Slide 9. How is that done (or can it be done, seeing as the embedded SWF file shows up only as a big box in the design view). The other option is to have buttons in a nav panel where a user can choose his/her line numbers to which to jump. Not as cool or elegant, but will work if my former idea falls over.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
