Emphasis issue with powerpoint slides

I have found that if i add emphasis to an object such as a box or other shape that is on a slide that I created from powerpoint it will break the published output for that slide.  It works fine when viewing the project within captivate, but if I publish to the computer, the slides that have objects with emphasis on them will not play in the html version.  The other slides will, but those simply freeze with a completely white screen, no audio plays, and the progress bar at the bottom quits progressing.  you can navigate past those to other slides that work just fine.  All slides with emphasis on object react this way.

using 2017 release, version 10.0.0.192

I can remove the emphasis and the issue goes away, but I would really like to use that feature to be able to highlight items on the slides.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I am not sure to understand. Imported PPT slides are like movie slides, you do not have individual objects. What did you add to what? Emphasis is a category of Effects, they cannot be added to a slide, only to objects.

    Starting from PPT import is not recommended at all if you want to create efficient eLearning or add effects etc.

    After importing the PowerPoint slides, I added objects to them.  i added a rounded rectangle that would appear at a certain point and highlight the particular item i was talking about.

    I also added an arrow shape that the user could click to continue to another slide.  I used the 'flicker" emphasis to draw attention to it.

    For both of these case, the project displays fine in preview mode, but once you publish it, those slides are blank and do not load at all (white screen only, no audio) when they come up in the module.

    I started with PowerPoint because I had a large existing PowerPoint that I used for training.  I am converting it to an e-learning module, and re-creating it from scratch would be extremely time consuming.

    Reason is already in my first answer: you have to keep to the video slides created from PPT, maybe a static added object will appear in the correct time but I s-certainly wouldn't recommend to add animated objects where effects have been used like motion effect (some of the Emphasis category include motions).  If is a bit similar to the Videos you can create with Video Demo: it is possible in the editor to add static objects, but no effects.  You probably also know that converting to responsive projects will be almost impossible?

    If you want to convert a PPT, either go with a PPT plug-in like iSpring, Adobe Presenter. Even SL has a better way of importing PPT but has many other drawbacks (no real responsive projects etc.)

    If you want to be able to use the many advanced features of Captivate and be future proof, best way is to recreate in CP. YOu can unzip the ppt file, and import or drag all the usable assets to the Captivate library. Edit or create a custom theme based on a custom theme color palette and you are ready to go.

    What happens when you insert only static objects without effects? Most of the effects can be created in PPT and when imported in CP it will try to capture all those animations in the video slides.
