Question

"Enable custom workspaces/panel undocking" feature not working

I am using Captivate 8 in Windows 10.  I have tried numerous times to get the "Enable custom workspaces/panel undocking" option to be in effect (Edit > Preferences>General Settings).  I have restarted my computer many times and cleared the cache.  What can I do to resolve this issue?  Thank you!

    Hi Marion,

Enable Custom Work space is a preference setting, clearing preference will clear this setting, Please try the below workflow once again and let us know if your issue gets resolved.

1.Launch Captivate and Goto  Edit > Prefrerences > General settings

2.Check the Enable Custom Workspcae ..... setting. and press OK.

    3.Quit Captivate and relaunch Captivate.

Captivate should now get launched in custom workspace mode. We have verified at our end. Let me know if you still face the issue.

    Thanks

Thanks Devraj, but the point my team member is making is that the option is not sticking.  She has made the change and restarted Captivate - several times - and each time the option is cleared after restarting.  I'm not sure what you mean by "clearing preference will clear this setting."  Can you explain?

I am not Devraj, but he will not mind me popping in. When you clear Preferences, you lose all customisation.  Changing the default Preferences (like switching to Expert UI, by 'Enable custom...') is part of customisation. That is why you lose it whenever you Clean Preferences. More info about customisation:
