Hi,

We have a client who wants to do essay questions.

Is this an LMS thing or can I do them in Captivate.

I think you're probably better off trying to do this in the LMS.

Captivate has the Short Answer question type, but it's not really designed for longish answers such as you would get with an essay and there's no way to add formatting within the text.

Hi,

I found that  Articulate has an essay question with delayed response :-(, So I searched Tristan's excellent widget treasury for an answer so that Captivate could  do the same

Do people think combining 2 flash widgets like the following would work ?

Use the Flash facotr "cp notepad" widget (which creates I think a text variable) and then sending this google form using captivate_dev's "google lms with lms reporting widget".

Hello,

I'm not sure that cpNotepad widget has an associated variable, at least you cannot define it. You can send the content of the widget to a HTML-page and that could perhaps help you. However it is not (yet) updated for Captivate 6, will not be functional in that version. I really hope that Yves will update.

Another possibility is the TextArea widget, that has a variable associated with it. Jim Leichliter (captivate_dev) has even enhanced that widget (and I blogged about it). And he promised to update that widget for CP6. In combi with his latest google lms widget, that  could be a solution as well.
