Event video does not play in LMS in Chrome only

Hello,

I have several courses, each with an event video on one slide. I publish to SCORM as HTML5, upload to the Absorb LMS, and the video doesn't play. Or, it does play but the player skin controls on the video do not work and then the video won't play again if I close and relaunch the course. Sometimes the video works perfectly fine, but it almost always fails. It's is most likely to work fine the first time I try to view it or after an update or cache clear, but still, not always. This only happens in Chrome, and it happens on multiple machines. IE and Firefox work perfectly.

So far I have tried:

  • Using the SCORM template SendTrackingDataAtEnd
  • Under LMS Advanced Settings, I have Never Send Resume Data, Set exit to normal after completion, and Escape version and session ID checked
  • Preloader is set at 100%
  • Enabled Disable hardware-accelerated video decode in chrome://flags/
  • Updated Chrome to Version 45.0.2454.101 m
  • Updated Captivate to 8.0.1.242
  • Tested SCORM on SCORM Cloud where it worked fine
  • Also tried publishing in Flash, and if I just upload the mp4 to the LMS it works fine on it's own.

If one LMS (e.g SCORM Cloud) can get Captivate's HTML5 content to play fine in Chrome, the issue with your LMS should be laid at the LMS vendor's doorstep in my view.

There must be some incompatibility with their LMSs SCORM player software.
