Question

Event video - how do I add text after video ends?

I have several videos in a course. One on each slide, I would like to display a text box when the video ends saying "Click the forward button to continue." Can do I do that?

I have played with the slide and video object settings. I have also tried Advanced Actions when entering the slide.

    Hi there

One might attempt to time the slide to match the video, but that would be tricky if you are allowing the end user to start and stop the video using video playback controls. If you did take this approach, you might consider not using a video skin and having it just autoplay. Then time the slide a fuzz longer than the video and stage a text object to be presented after the video stops playing.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks for the thought. I tried to "time the slide to match the video" but as you noted (if the user plays with the video controls) the text does not always appear on time. I really need to have the video control bar since some of the videos are 15-19 minutes long. FYI, Auto Play is checked so the video begins when the slide is entered.

If you don't have any other solution, I could add text within the end of the MP4 video itself. However, when the video ends, (the text in the video does not stay) it always rewinds to the beginning of the video. So in the slide how do I keep the play head at the end without it auto rewinding?
