Event Video Vs Slide Video

I'm trying to load a video via Multi-Slide Synchronized Video.  I have a separate audio track which loads a second before the video.  When the video loads, it causes the audio track to "hiccup", it kind of pauses for a second.  When using the Event Video option, this does not happen, however I would like to be able to pause the video using the main play bar, and this does not seem to work when using Event Video.  Any ideas why I might be having the audio problem with the Slide Video option?
