Question

Event video won't pause

When I click the pause button on the event video playbar, the presentation advances to the next slide. I have the video object as the top layer. And the click box is moved to the back. Actually, the slide advances if I click anywhere on the slide. Any ideas what's wrong? Thank you.

Can you post a screenshot of the timeline and the stage? You talk about a click box: what are its settings, attempts, actions on Success and Failure? Is the event video overlapping with the click box? Normally event video plays independently of Captivate, but it looks like you have an event that triggers the Go to Next slide on the stage.

Something certainly is triggering it. I have the "next" button and click box (moved to the back) set to advance to the next slide. I'm thinking it has to do with the click box because it happens if I click anywhere on the slide. I did "arrange, send to back" for the click box, so I don't understand why it's still triggered with event video over it. I do want the click box because it's on all of the other slides.

Even though the click box is at the bottom of the stack, it remains active certainly for SWF output. For HTML output it is less consistent. I'm sorry, but reflect if you really do need that click box? What is its functionality? You tell that you want it but it shouldn't be functional? Is there any reason why you need to have it because it exists on other slides? On this slide you have already 3 buttons pausing the slide, why do you need a 4th interactive object?

Do you know that it is not necessary to extend the duration of a slide for an event video? It plays independently. Maybe read this article:
