Executable format publishing not working in Captivate 9

Hi Team,

When I am publishing the source file to executable file format using the below option:

The screen keeps on loading and doesn't show the content. Earlier it was working fine but now I am not able to resolve the issue. This is a priority work and needs to be resolved as soon as possible. The HTML/SWF format works fine. I also tried using other flash versions like 10.2 and 11. Kindly help me resolve this.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Do you have LMS Quiz Reporting turned on when you publish this EXE?  That black spinning animation is usually the one used when the course is trying to make contact with an LMS SCORM API.  But an EXE file cannot communicate with an LMS.

If you DO happen to still have Quiz > Reporting turned on, please deselect that option and try republishing to EXE again.

Thanks a ton RodWard....You just saved my day ....Yes I had turned on the reporting to LMS feature as I had to publish in HTML/SWF format and then upload to LMS. But then I required the output in exe format and then the issue happened.

Happy Learning and have a great weekend ahead.

An EXE file is a self-running SWF in its own player.  You have zipped the EXE (according to your screenshot).

Are you just double-clicking the zip and expecting the EXE to run that way?

If you extract the EXE from the zip, and then double-click to open it, does it run then?

Have you checked into whether or not you may have an antivirus app on your system or restricted user permissions that could be blocking you from running an Executable file?

    Hi Rodward,

Yes I have extracted the zipped file and ran the executable file. It opens but the thing is it goes on loading without displaying any content.

I also published it by not checking the zipped file option. But then also the issue remains the same. Please find the screenshot below:
