Exit Button in Captivate 6

Hi There

I am trying to create an exit button in captivate 6 at the end of the learning module.

I have tried to use the advanced actions using stuff I had read on the internet but to no avail.

Is there anyone that can give me guidance and directions on how to do this and create an Exit button

What's wrong with using the one on the Playbar?

For your info, trying to use an EXIT action can be a very frustrating experience because there are only certain circumstances where it will work and lots of circumstances where it will be blocked.

Hi there

Here's how you can achieve it. A Captivate project can be configured with a Start and an End action. Click Edit > Preferences and I think it's in the Project area on the left. There will be several subsections. (sorry, drawing from memory here without the application open)

Configure the end action to be to close the project. That should have the same effect of clicking the Exit button. Then for whatever you are using (Button, Click Box or Smart Shape configured as a button) configure the action to jump to the last slide. Add a slide at the end that is extremely brief. .1 seconds in duration.

What should then happen during playback is that your user clicks the button, the last slide is visited for .1 seconds and *IF* the project can be closed, it closes! Note that "*IF*". I'm referring to what Rod offered about exit not always working.
