Exit Button Not Working on Master Slide

I have an Exit Button with the Exit action attached to it on my eLearning project's overall master slide, so displays on every other content master slide. This, in turn, displays the exit button on any slide I want to add to my project. Is there any reason the exit action attached to that button shouldn't work? Every time I'm in my project reviewing it, the button never closes the project. It just clicks, but doesn't do anything. Do I need to have the action for the button available on the CONTENT master slides as opposed to the main master slide?

@wc@fmiosa  As a moderator I have to ask you to NOT post answers that are wrong and/or mislead other Captivate users. I considered deleting your answer, but you'll insult me (again) if I do so. When you say 'Buttons don't work when on the master slide', your answer seems to tell that you can insert buttons on a master slide but they'll never work? This is not correct at all: if you can insert a button on a master slide it has to be a shape button because the other buttons cannot be inserted on a master slide at all. You apparently missed the appearance of shape buttons, almost 4 years ago. They are the only interactive objects you can use on master slides, you can insert on the first slide and time for the rest of the project, you can use them on question slides and score slides. If you are still using Captivate 5.5 or before, mention that at least in your answer, and add that this could have changed in later versions

Buttons don't work when they are on the master slide. Unfortunately you have to copy/paste them on EVERY slide for them to work

This is an incorrect answer, see my reply later on in this thread.

Not correct.  Shape Buttons can be placed on Master Slides and will work under the correct circumstances.  However, trying to use an Exit action in a Captivate project is problematic at the best of times so the issue is most likely connected with that, NOT the fact that you are using a button on a master slide.
