Export and import closed captions

I have exported closed captions and made some textual changes in the exported word document. However, when I imported the same document from Import captions options in the File menu, the changes made in captions are not reflected.

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced a problem importing CC captions. I have just tried this and am getting the same result. I'll do some more testing and see if I can work out why this is happening.

Hi again,

Further to my last post. I have discovered that in order to get the updated closed captioning text to appear you first need to show the Closed Captioning dialog box. To do this carry out the following steps:

  1. Import your Closed Captions back into Adobe Captivate 4 (File > Import > Project Captions and Closed Captions...)
  2. Left-click on the audio icon of the Slide whose CC text you want to update and choose Close Captioning... (Notice also the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + Alt + C)
  3. In the Closed Captioning dialog box, please click OK.
  4. Notice now that the new version of the CC text will appear in the Slide Notes panel.

It would seem that you will need to do this manually for every slide whose CC text you want to update.

This is definitely a bug, and I will report this issue to the Adobe Captivate team.

Best - Mark
