export or print captivate slides to pdf

How do I get the various slides in a Captivate presentation exported to either MS Word or, preferably, into a PDF format to share?

That's the first thing I tried. It doesn't work, no matter how many different ways I try. I get and error message that says:

"Publish to MS Word failed. Retry after ensuring that

--the document is not open

--you have installed MS Word"

So what is the problem here?

1. Word is up and running, current version of Office. I've also tried it with Word closed. Nada.

2. Ensure WHAT document is not open?

Running Captivate 2017 on Sierra 10.12.6.
