I exported Captions and Closed Captions to a Word document, attached it to an email and the person to whom I sent the file opens the file.  However, they cannot see the columns and captions. They are using Office XP and Word 2003.  I am using Vista and Word 2007.

Here is what they see when they open the file:

Thanks in advance...

Hi, I am importing simplified Chinese translations to my Adobe captivate 7 file. I've noticed that Adobe Captivate can only import .doc captions. However, I have a .docx file which is in Simplified Chinese language.

I tried converting .docx to .doc file but there were some Chinese letters that were not imported properly. Is there a way I can import a .docx file? What solution do you think is best?

I don't understand Chinese so I cannot delete those characters that seem a little off.

    Thanks,

    Dinky

This is a very old thread. I propose to start a new thread, where you explain also which version of Captivate and Office you are using.

There is an alternative, using XML instead of Word to import translations, maybe you could consider that work flow?

Importing and Exporting is not possible from and to Word2007, you have to use Word2003. I have been asking to adapt this in a patch. You could support my request by filling in the Bug/Feature request form.

    HI,

Did the same thing appear on your machine as well... We won't want to be scratching our brains if this is a problem with the Word-07 and Word-03 compatibilty .

If you exported to Word 2007 and it was fine on your PC, but someone else can't view it with Word 2003, I would suggest it is a Word problem.

You can't open Word 2007 files with Word 2003.

Save the file as a Word 2003 file.
