Question

Exporting Adobe Captivate to PowerPoint

I am trying to convert AC files back to PPT and need some advice on how to accomplish this task. The presentations (lessons) were built as PPTs and converted to AC. I am trying to find the procedures to re-convert them back. This will give me the knowledge and ammunition when I discuss it with the AC creator.

When I open the files on the disc some folders are empty and some have a Cascading Style Sheet Document, HTML Document, Adobe Acrobat Document, Shockwave Flash Object and JavaScript Files. Is this because someone hide the empty folder files and on the other disc someone forgot to hide the files?

 Any information would be helpful.

You cannot convert back, sorry.  Why do you want to go back to a presentation after creating an eLearning course?

I am new to AC and wanted to edit presentations. So now I take it I must have the original files or source presentation? What is the correct term?

Do you want to create eLearning or presentations?  If the PPT is linked to Captivate (abbreviation is CP, not AC) you should be able to edit the PPT and have that reflected in Captivate. But honestly, the worst starting point for good eLearning is PPT. It is much better to start in Captivate from scratch, using eventually the assets from the PPT than use the import feature. You will be too frustrated because every PPT slide is converted to a short movie slide in Captivate and editing is a painful process. Moreover if you really want HTML output, please start in Captivate.
