Question

External hyperlinks not working closing course

I have a project in Adobe Captivate 2019 v 11.5.5.553 with some external hyperlinks, when I preview it in Captivate they work fine. However, when I imported the zip file into SCORM Cloud and published, the hyperlink does not work as expected, every time I clicked on them it closed the course.Thank you for your help.

I have answered this same question yesterday... wondering.

Were the hyperlinks pointing to an URL or a file? Or did they launch any other command possible from hyperlinks?

The problem is when opening the external hyperlinks from the LMS Cloud. The hyperlinks are pointing to an URL. It trying to open the URL then fires the course's exit routine.

I came across a similar issue a year or so ago, and perhaps this will help you.

I was doing some induction courses required by a new client using their own LMS.  One of the modules had links to PDFs that the learner could optionally view for more information.  Each time I clicked any of these PDFs and it opened, it looked like my course had shut down at the same time.  I thought that opening the PDF meant that the course window had closed and I actually reported iit as a bug in the elearning module.

However, I was mistaken because it turned out that the course window was still open, but it was just unseen to me because all other browser windows were now on top of it.  To find the course window again I had to dig down through the other windows to find it.

I suggest you check through all of the browser tabs or windows on your SCORM Cloud course to find out if in fact the issue is NOT that the course window has actually closed but that it has simply been placed behind the other windows.  That might actually be the problem.
