Question

Failure

I'm fairly new to Captivate 9 and this is only the 2nd course that I've created. I have a very simple course, with very simple controls, 11 videos and a title slide. I've exported according to the instructions on Lynda, but when I upload to my LMS, it gives me an error each time.

I just attempted to preview in the SCORM cloud and I get this error.

Anyone have success in trouble shooting errors? I'm not even sure where to start?

fail

I wonder if it has to do with the videos. How have you embedded your videos into the course? As an experiment try saving a temporary copy of your course with the videos removed. Try uploading it to your LMS and to SCORM cloud. If it works without the videos, the culprit might be the videos, perhaps how they have been embedded, what format they are in, or perhaps they are not ending up in your SCORM Zip file.

Did you create a SCO? That means that you have to set up Reporting in Quiz Preferences. When doing that publishing will automatically result in a SCORM package (zipped) to upload to a LMS.

Do you have to do this even if you don't have a quiz?

If you want to test it on SCORM Cloud, yes. You can define the number of slides to be viewed as criterion.

Some LMS's allow also to upload zipped packages, and you'll have to instruct the LMS to unzip and to launch either the htm file (for SWF output) or the index.html file (for HMTL output). You have to ask the LMS people if that is possible, it will not be a SCO in that case.
