Feature Improvement: Set mouse timing separate from slide

We need the ability to set the mouse timing separately from the slide timing. For example: I want to have the slide viewable for 15 seconds. I want the mouse to appear immediately (when the slide appears 0.0 seconds). Then I want the mouse to "travel" for about 2.5 seconds. However, when I save the file and look at the slide, Captivate adjusts the mouse to appear 0.0 seconds after the slide appears, but now the mouse takes 15 seconds to "travel". When the distance between objects on the screen is slight, the movement of the mouse is almost imperceptable.

    Hi

The Timeline and Mouse properties are basically one and the same. They are simply two different avenues/representations of the same thing. Doesn't matter whether you click and drag in the Timeline or elect to change these timings via the dialog. Personally, I'm a click and drag person. But the properties dialog may make more sense to others.

    Sincerely... Rick

Unfortunately, the timeline feature and the Properties feature for the mouse seem to work differently. I kept changing the mouse Properties and setting the slide properties. Then when I went to another slide and came back, I noticed that Captivate automatically changed the Properties for the mouse to incorporate the entire length of time of the slide. However, using the timeline drag method seems to solve the problem. I'm happy knowing that we can resolve the issue, but think we may have a bug on our hands.

I'll be passing the timeline method along as the solution for our team. Thanks everyone for your assistance. - DBlake

DMBlake, have you tried to adjust the timing of the mouse in the timeline? The mouse should have it's own row, and you can drag the right-hand side of the mouse timing box. Also, if you right-click the mouse, you can select "properties" and adjust some settings there.

Thanks, this tip did the trick. It isn't obvious that the timeline functionality works differently than the Properties for the mouse. Is this a bug or ???
