Files are missing after uploading the published file to SCORM

Hi all,

I'm not sure whether this is an issue in Captivate 9 or SCORM. I have some buttons to open the files. I changed Flash Security setting and added all related folders as Trusted.

When I previewed in browser, they worked. However, once I uploaded the published file (zip) to SCORM, the buttons are not working.

I have one button linking to the specific URL, which is working in SCORM. However, two buttons linking to the pdf and jpg files are not working in SCORM (but worked in preview).

Does anyone encounter this issue? I would really appreciate it if anyone can help to solve this issue.

I am using Captivate 9 and Mac.

Your issue might be connected with the way your LMS is playing the files. Try uploading and testing your SCORM from SCORM Cloud to see if it works from there.

And another thing to check is that you did not just use the link to the file on your own computer as the link.  You need to make sure the files are loaded into the same output folder as the SWF and set the link to them as being the filename only.  Then it should be a relative link that would work from almost any web-based server, including most LMSs.

Hi Rod,

I would appreciate it if you could give me more detailed explanation about producing a relative link...I'm using SCORM Cloud to test my swf file and found the issue of missing files. So I think my issue is a relative file. I am not sure the meaning "You need to make sure the files are loaded into the same output folder as the SWF and set the link to them as being the filename only. " in your response. Could you give me the step-by-step instruction? I really appreciate it!

Just Google for info about the difference between Absolute links and Relative links.  That will tell you how the structure of the link differs.

Show me a screenshot of the Open URL field as you see it in Captivate.  What does the link to the file look like?
