Question

Fill background of highlight box, but NOT the caption

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to gray out the background in order to highlight a region on the screen. The problem is, I am also trying to exclude a text caption so that it is not grayed out. An example of what I'm trying to do is in second half of the "Effects" movie (under "Additional Features" on the home page of Captivate 2).

Basically, I am trying to gray out everything except the highlight box and a specific text caption.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Matt

    Hi Matt,

You can do this. Make sure the Timeline is visible - then just move your caption to the layer above the highlight object. You can drag the caption to the top layer on the timeline, or you can right click over it on the stage or timeline and then choose "Bring to Front".

Any objects that are higher up in the timeline than the highlight will not be covered by the outer fill shading.

    I hope this helps.

    Best,
    Aaron
