Fill in the blank question slide

I use Adobe Captivate 5.5 for the Mac, my fill in the blank question slides are not working. The answer are showing and the box for the answer is so small that either you cannot see everything you type or else you can't even get your cursor in it to type at all.

Captivate 5 was rewritten from scratch and indeed some questions are not upgraded well. Really believe that the quickest way to solve this problem is to recreate those troublesome question slides. That was the reason I asked for your work flow because I find Fill-in-the-Blank questions behaving much better in 5.5 than in earlier versions.

Not sure if this will bump this thread or not, but I'm having this exact same issue in Captivate 5.5 for Windows. My FITB dropdowns are so small the answer isn't visible. I've tried changing the font size but there's no font size that will show in that size window. All my FITB slides were created from scratch in 5.5 so I'm not sure what is causing my issue. I've also tried resizing the FITB text box with no luck. Off to search some more!

I fixed my issue by adding blank spaces at the end of the words to make them long enough. I'm sure I just didn't stumble on the right thread to find this answer. My answers also aren't very hard or long so this works for me.

Becky, when creating custom FIB slides, I will often replace the normal dropdown lists by the Listbox widget or the enhanced Textarea widget. Just an idea,

I think I'd like to give that a try going forward. This project has been a great learning experience, albeit a bit rushed in its timeframe. I needed a bit more time to get comfortable using widgets and things outside of the basic question slide - I just learned yesterday about quiz scope from Rod! I'm thinking it would make my review slides more versatile and probably look nicer.

I'm on Windows, so not sure I'll be able to help. The default size of the text field for the blank words is sufficient, although the used font size will be a little bit smaller than the size of the rest of the sentence.

How did you create the 'blank'? Do you have the same issue if you use a dropdown list instead of a text field?

Because I do not like the smaller font size for the blank fields, I often create my own Fill-in-the-Blank slides, using either Text Entry Boxes or the TextArea widget.

I created these lessons on an earlier PC version of Captivate but upgraded to the new Mac version and converted all of my files. I now have this issue, some fill in questions are fine, some you can see part of the answer but are still functioning, and some the box is so small you can't even type in the answer. Also, in most cases when you type in the answer you can't see the whole answer, which makes it tough on the person typing in an answer.
