Fill in the Blank Question Slide Design Question/Suggestion

Dear All,

The FitB Ques slide is a little misleading in as much as one can set up multiple blanks in one question slide, yet all blanks must be answered correctly to receive full credit. If even one blank is answered incorrectly of several blanks (3 out of 4), the learner gets 0% instead of 75%.

The <1> brown fox jumped <2> the lazy dog. I have to type both 'quick' and 'over' to get, say, 10 pts. If I type 'fast' and 'over' I should get 5 pts, but instead I get 0 pts. I could create 2 different slides 1. The <1> brown fox jumped _____ the lazy dog.   2. The ____ brown fox jumped <1> the lazy dog., but that seems to be a waste of dev. time and takes away and assessment continuity and context creating confussion.

It would be great if a FitB question could award a pt value per each blank on the slide.

Thoughts...Possibility of becoming reality?

Thanks,

Keith

    Hello Keith,

Up till now partial scores are not possible in the default Question slides. I would recommend that you enter a Feature Request, we are many to ask for this feature, but to get it high on the priority list...

There could be a workaround, but then you'll have to construct your proper FIB slide, using Text Entry Boxes and attaching scores to those TEB's. In that case each TEB will be scored individually. If you want to mimick the behavior of the default FIB Question, you'll need some Advanced actions (p.e. to show if answer is correct), so I hope you are using CP4.
