Find the name of missing fonts

I'm opening a file created by someone else that is no longer with my organization and since they were using a font that I don't have installed, the font is defaulting to another font. The computer they used to create the file has already been reformatted I have no way of loading the file on their computer to see what font they were using. Are there any tricks to find out what font was being used?

I'm afraid there will not be a way to detect if you don't have a published version. Captivate never embeds fonts (file size is probably reason).

    Hi there,

Some time has passed since this question was answered. I'm hoping that there is maybe a new solution? I am on Captivate 10 / 2017.

I'm encountering the same problem today (opening an old Captivate project on a new computer) : How can I identify from within the Captivate project the name of a missing font that is, in its absence, defaulting to another ?

Whatthefont fails to identify the font.

I see the lovely typekit missing font integration in illustrator. How to do the same in Captivate?

    Many thanks,

I saw the project right before the designer left and I know that it wasn't using the font Batang. As the project wasn't completed, a published version of the file was never created.

I can't use WhatTheFont because the font is defaulting to another font within Captivate. I don't have a published file, just the Captivate file.

Unfortunate. I was hoping that there was possibly a way to view the raw data from the file in a text editor that would let you know what the font name was.

There is a service that you can use called WhatTheFont.com where you

supply an image of some text and it will analyze it and report back the

    possible font.
