Question

Flash animation in Captivate 4?

Hi All,

I am converting some older HTML format learning into slightly more glitzy captivate modules. We had some interactive flash drag-and-drop exercises written for our HTML format a few years ago, which work fine on a web page. However, I have downloaded a couple and tried inserting them into .cp to check they work and I get a 'root is referenced and may work incorrectly' message come up. Is there anyway I can resolve this without having access to the .fla that it was originally designed in?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

Are you simply concluding that by seeing an advisory that things won't work? Or have you tested and discovered that they don't?

In many instances the message is just an advisory and things work fine in the end.

In the event you find things aren't working, here are a couple of Blog posts that may help

    And here for the other

    Cheers... Rick

    Hi Rick,

Yes sorry forgot to post that i have checked it and to no avail. Have also tried the 'externalize' animation method that seems to mentioned in various places but to no avail. I will have a look at the links you sent and let you know.

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hi Rick,

Have tried the externalize animation method again, and it still doesn't work for me. I checked the folder that is produced when you publish it, and it is creating the seperate file but it still doesn't work the way it should.

I have attached one of the offending files, could you see if it works for you? The buttons are meant to a) check your answers, b) wipe the slate clean and start again, and c) give up and get the answers to display. Well I can't get any of them to work!

    Thanks
