Question

Font format on a variable value

Why a different font formatting on a variable value in text caption hides the rest of caption content? Is there a workaround?

When I insert a variable ($$VariableName$$) in a text caption and apply a different font format (eg: Bold or font color), all text caption content that should appear after the variable value is hidden ?

Thanks for help!

Text displayed from variables is called Dynamic Text.  In Captivate the text that is part of a normal caption gets turned into an image (in SWF content).  So they end up as separate things.

If you want your variables to not affect the other text in a caption, you may need to separate your variable out into a transparent text caption and position it over the top of the normal caption.  Then whatever you do to the formatting for your variable will not affect the other text.
