Force user to complete video module after quiz is failed for credit

Hi all,

Let me first start by saying I'm new to Captivate with only a couple months of training.

My current issue is I'm developing Annual Compliance Training modules for my organization and I'm trying to learn how to set it up so that if the Associate passes the quiz they get credit for completion or if they fail the quiz then they have to watch a video on the next slide, once it's finished then they will recieve credit for the learning module.

They way it's configured now is that if the Associate fails, they are directed to the next slide (that plays a video) but are given credit before completion of the video.

Is there a way to have it set up so that if the Associate fails the quiz they will be forced to watch the entire video before getting credit?

Thank you,

Patrick

How did you set up Reporting? Was it with SCORM 1.2 or 2004?

I have some ideas, but it would be nice to know the answer to that question.

You could turn on Branch aware. That will make the quizzing system variables needed to report to the LMS dynamic. Only the visited slides and score received on the slides will be taken into account.

Use the Pass/Fail actions in Quiz Preferences to navigate the Associate to a congratulations slide which is before the video slide, and provide an Exit button on that slide when a passing score has been gotten. For a Failure action navigate to the video slide, which is after the congratulation slide. Use slide video, not event video for that slide. Add an Exit button with a timing to appear after the end of the video (Timeline panel). Attach a score to  that button. If the video slide is visited, the total possible score for the project will be greater than for the Associate who passed without viewing the video. Make sure that a passing score will be achieved after viewing the video by increasing the score attached to the Exit button on the video slide. This scenario should be possible even if you use SCORM 1.2. For more details it is necessary to see the complete setup for your project. You can see the present total score in the Advanced Interactions panel (F9).

Thank you, I am currently using Scorm 1.2. I tried to upload a Scorm 2004 but our system didn't work with it.

I appreciate your response and will try that.
