Question

Formatting Text in a Variable...?

Good afternoon, everyone;

Just a quick question: is it possible to apply formatting to part of the text that is inserted by a variable?

For example, if my variable is $$variable_text$$ and for one particular slide the text is: "This is the text for this slide", is it possible to make it something like:

This is the text for this slide or This is the text for this slide or This is the text for this slide (for example)

Thanks!

    Not out of the box. Is it really necessary? I suppose this is a follow up for the other thread, where you fill the variable using an advanced action?

    Hi @Lilybiri - yes this is a follow up to that and, thanks to you and your push, I've bit the bullet and done the whole project with shared actions 🙂 - it was a bit of a learning curve but even with that it's shocking how much potential work it saved!

    While it's not necessary, I'm quite certain my supervisor is going to ask for emphasis on parts of the text in the boxes where I've put the variable.

    Is there a way to do it that's not out of the box?

    Thanks!

    Congratulations, you should take some personalised training from me.

    I am bit busy today, getting visitors. It could be possible concatenating variables, having the highlighted word in a separate variable. You cannot fill a variable with an image in Capitvate, but it may be possible with JavaScript.

    Or you would have to change original workflow, instead of having variables for the text using a multistate object and change the state on each slide.

    Sorry, have to prepare dinner....
