Question

Formatting the Text entry for a submit text box

I have a standard set up where we ask the learner to type in their answer to a question on slide 1, submits, we capture this information in a variable and show it next to the correct answer on slide 2.

The text that is to be typed in is longer than one line (probably 500-1000 characters) so how do I:

1. Accommodate for the learner  using a carriage return rather than one long streaming line?

2. Have the cursor start at the top of the box text entry rather than the center?

I am using Captivate 2017

I would use the scrolling text interaction for such a use case, not the TEB.

Are you talking about using the scrolling text interaction for the variable display on page 2?  This is a good idea but it doesn't address my problem.

I should have clarified - I am looking for addressing these things on the first page--as they are inputting their text.

No, to capture the answer. It can have an associated variable.
