Full audio is being imported rather than the smalled edited tracks

I have strange problem with my Adobe captivate, when I am trying to import specific edited version of the audio it is importing the entire audio from where the edited audio has been taken. I don't know what is causing this issue, I renamed the audio and copied it to another folder as well. Still its not resolving the issue. I have edited the audio using audacity.

Can anyone please help.

At this moment, due to the availability of two complete different versions of Captivate, it is impossible to answer your question if I don't know which exact version and OS you are using. You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate (Win) or Captivate, About Captivate (Mac).

CP2019 has a Project Library where you could check this out, the New version hasn't that functionality.

The captivate version is 11.8.2.254 and OS is windows

That is indeed a buggy release, I don't use it for professional jobs, so I may have missed this.

Can you check the audio clips in the Project Library? You can listen to them, see if they are used or not... Delete all the clips which you don't want to use and check the Preview. More about Project Libraries in this blog post:
