Full Motion Recording with Software Simulation is Not Smooth Scrolling

I am trying to capture a full motion recording while scrolling down on a webpage. I am using the software simulation manual recording option. When I finish and view the slide, the scrolling is jerky and does not show smooth scrolling.

Welcome to this forum.

At this moment two versions of Captivate are around: Captivate Classic and the new version 12. Both can create software simulations. Can you tell which version you are using?

If it is Captivate Classic, my first recommendation is never to use FMR slides anymore. If you cannot avoid such a slide, pause the Software simulation and insert a Video Demo slide to show the scrolling ot other mouse movement needing such a slide. Then you can continue the software simulation. Personally I never use the software sim in Demo mode anymore, use only Video Demo. But even in Assessment/Training mode you may need such a Video Demo slide.

Reason: original FMR slides were creating FLVs (based on Flash technology). Now they will be converted to MP4 on runtime but as you may have experienced that is not always working very well. Moreover, don't forget to increase the bitrate in Preferences, Recording to 32-bit, it affects both Video Demo and the so-called FMR slides.

I am using the Classic version. Ah, that makes sense. I did notice that if I used the Video Demo, the scrolling was much smoother. I will try to rely on that option instead. Thanks so much for your explanation!
