Full motion slide wrong size in HTML5

Hi,

we publish our Captivate projects in HTML5. When recording a software demo some actions ,e.g. Drag n' Drop, get transformed into full motion slides.

These slides, when displayed in the browser / project get resized in their width (smaller), producing black bars left / right on the screen.

Any idea on how to avoid this?

Greetings, David

Correct answer Lilybiri

Replace the old FMR slided (flash-based) by cpvc slides (result in mp4).

Lot more work, wished they improved the work flow. Also:. try to avoid the need for such  motion slides, they often have an alternative work flow.

Example: click on the scrollbar instead of dragging it.

You can capture a CPVC-slide within a Captivate project.

It helps to give you an exact answer if you mention the version you are using. I just did see that you marked an answer about D&D functionality lacking in CP8, which was the case but only for the first release of 8. It was almost immediately added with a patch (to 8.0.1). Be careful with older threads.

Hi, thanks for the info. But how would I create these cpvc slides?

The easiest way is to do it in the recording work flow:

  • Stop the recording when you expect a motion slide to appear
  • Use the Slides button, Video Demo slide to start a Video Demo Slide
  • When motion is done, stop the video demo (you could edit it, but is also possible later on)
  • Use the Slides button, Software simulation to continue the normal sim
