Fuzzy text

Is the clarity or sharpness of text on the slide directly related to screen size? My screen size is at the default of 640x480. Is there a difference between screen size and text resolution? How can I have a screen size of 640x480 and get sharp, crisp text when adding it to a slide in Captivate?

Hi redbud9 and welcome to our community

There are many reasons the text may look "fuzzy". Among them are the following questions:

* Is this happening with the Transparent Caption type?
If so, try editing the caption, place the cursor at the end of the text and press the Enter key a couple of times. Then apply a bullet to the last line and size the caption so the bullet doesn't show.

* Is this happening only when you view the output?
If so, make sure you are viewing the output by launching the associated HTML page. If you launch only the .SWF, it will stretch or shrink to whatever size the browser is opened to.

* Did the slide text arrive by way of being imported from PowerPoint?
PowerPoint expects to be viewed full screen. You will need to adjust PowerPoint to better accommodate the screen size you wish to use before attempting to import into Captivate.

Generally speaking, resolution and clarity shouldn't really affect one another. Unless, of course, you begin changing things around after capturing. Then you may notice unwanted changes.

Cheers... Rick
