Question

Gestures, Scalable HTML, and Pinch to zoom

Forgive me if this has been asked before. When I search this forum, articles are several years old. I thought maybe this issue had been solved.

We are moving to more mobile-responsive courses at my company. We have courses already developed and published as Scalable HTML. We were not planning to move to fluid boxes. We were looking to continue using Scalable HTML and adding Mobile Gestures.

In testing, I can see that if I have a Scalable course, I cannot pinch to zoom in any further. Is this still the case?

(Courses have a lot of text that gets pretty small on a cell phone. Ideally, it would be nice to zoom to enlarge the text as needed.)

Thank you in advance!

Scalable HTML will use the available space and attempt to maximize the learning to fill that space. By its very nature it will prevent pinch to zoom. If your goal is to display full size images or documents to your learner, this might be a solution to consider: https://youtu.be/J61qyb0TirE
