Question

Getting Blank Screens

I am trying to use this program to do a demo of Miva (web based shopping cart) The problem is, when I click on a link in auto-record mode, it takes a screen shot while the page is still loading, so it's just a white page, but captivate continues on. Is there a way aroudn this, or to set a delay on the auto record ?? Thanks.

    Hey Rick,
Thanks for the quick reply. It's so much easier and more useful to use the auto capture, because of all the features it adds (captions, sounds, etc.. ) ... so ... I guess I have to live with it ... maybe an option for 3 ? :)

    Hi again ramiro77

Sure, you can request it if you want. You can easily do this by clicking here and completing the form. However, instead of requesting a simple delay configuration, I think I'd personally opt for creating a way to check the browser to see if all items have loaded before taking the screen shot. While I'm certainly no application developer, it would seem there is at least some way to know when this has occurred. (I'm basing this assumption on the fact that most browsers seem to know when this has happened by showing us a progress bar as part of the status bar (IE & Firefox both seem to do this).

Please note that I wasn't suggesting abandoning auto capture altogether. I was merely suggesting supplementing with print screen where needed. Sort of "Having your cake and eating it too".

    Cheers... Rick

    Hi ramiro77

While you can't set a delay, you can press the Print Screen key to force a screen shot later. This is the recommended approach when capturing Web based applications. Just supplement your auto recording with plenty of manual snapshots. Then you can easily delete the blank screens.

    Cheers... Rick
