Getting buttons to work with JAWS screenreader

Hi,

I'm having problems getting an HTML5 project to work with JAWS.

Any buttons i have created inside the project, including Quiz submit buttons, won't trigger with the spacebar when JAWS is running.

The Playbar buttons do though.

But when I quit JAWS, space works for all the buttons again.

Strangely, when JAWS is running, CTRL + Space will click the buttons. But that doesn't seem to be a standard JAWS keyboard button shortcut.
